Naturally, my curiosity was piqued and, duly intrigued, my first stop when I got home was the refrigerator.

1 Angel Food Cake, prepared
\n1 package (3.4 oz) Instant Vanilla pudding mix
\n1 \u00bd cups milk
\n1 cup Sour Cream (or plain greek yogurt)
\n\u00bd tsp almond extract
\n1 can (20 oz) cherry pie filling
\n1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip
\n1 Tbsp almond slices, toasted (optional)<\/p>\n

Cut angel food cake into cubes. Set aside.
\nIn a bowl, whisk together pudding mix, milk, sour cream, and almond extract. Set aside.
\nIn a 13\u00d79 baking dish, lay half of the cake cubes in the bottom of the pan. Spoon \u00be of the cherry pie filling over the cake.
\nRepeat cake layer. Pour pudding over the top of the cake, spreading it out evenly.
\nSpoon the Cool Whip over the pudding layer. Dollop the remaining pie filling on top.
\nRefrigerate cake for 4 hours, or overnight. Sprinkle almonds on top when ready to serve.
