Orange Chicken and Fried Rice is my family\u2019s favorite takeout order from our local Chinese restaurant. This Orange Chicken and Fried Rice recipe is a one pan version of that favorite my family loves. This Orange Chicken and Fried Rice can be easily made on a weeknight and once you have your ingredients prepped it\u2019ll cook in about 30 minutes!<\/p>\n

Just cook the rice following the directions on the package. This can be done earlier in the day or the night before and kept in the refrigerator.<\/p>\n To begin making the orange chicken you will cut 1 pound of chicken breast into bite sized pieces. This can also be done ahead of time to save on total cook time. Next, you will season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.<\/p>\n In a small bowl combine 1\/2 cup of all purpose flour and 1\/2 cup of corn starch. Season with 1 teaspoon each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and chili powder. I like to use the Better Breader Bowl (commissionable link) for this part to make it a little easier. This is my amazon affiliate\/commisionable link for that product.<\/p>\n Cooking the Orange Chicken Remove the chicken from the pan and set it to the side while the rice is cooking. I like to wait until the rice has been cooked to toss the chicken in the Orange sauce.<\/p>\n Cooking the Fried Rice As the rice begins to toast up form a small well in the center of your pan. In a bowl whisk together four eggs and pour them into the center of the pan. Stir the eggs in the center of the pan allowing them to scramble. Once they\u2019ve firmed up mix them into the rice.<\/p>\n Serving Orange Chicken and Fried Rice We like to serve this with some additional orange sauce, soy sauce, or sweet and sour. Crunchy lo mein noodles are also the perfect topping for some extra crunch!<\/p>\n\n
\n1 lb chicken breast
\nSalt, pepper, garlic powder
\n1\/2 cup flour
\n1\/2 cup cornstarch
\n1 tsp each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and chili powder
\n2 tbsp butter
\nSesame oil (or any oil)
\n4 strips of bacon
\n2 cups uncooked long grain white rice
\n12 oz frozen mixed vegetables
\nSoy sauce
\n4 eggs
\nChopped green onions
\nOrange Sauce (Store Bought)
\nPrep Orange Chicken and Fried Rice :\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
\nPlace a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Once it\u2019s hot add in 2 Tablespoons each of butter and sesame oil. If you don\u2019t have sesame oil you can use whatever oil you have on hand. Add your chicken to the pan and cook until golden. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken has reached 165 degrees.<\/p>\n
\nIn the same large pan as before cook four strips of cut up bacon until crisp. Once the bacon is cooked add in your cooked rice. Drizzle some additional oil over the rice and stir over medium high heat. Next, stir in a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. Season the rice with salt, pepper, garlic, and low sodium soy sauce.<\/p>\n
\nToss your cooked chicken in your favorite bottled Orange sauce. Just use enough of the sauce to coat the chicken. Pour the chicken over the top of your cooked fried rice. Top with chopped green onions serve and enjoy!<\/p>\n
